6 Morning Exercises to Do Before Getting Out of Bed
#1 Full Body Stretch
Lock and stretch your arms above head as you inhale. You can perform this stretch while you stay under the cover.
Simultaneously lengthen your legs by pointing your toes. Hold elbows and knees straight for 5 seconds and exhale. Repeat this 3 times.
#2 Figure Four Stretch
Keep pillows under your head and shoulder to elevate. Now, bend your knees and place feet flat on bed. To loosen tighten hips and thighs, place left ankle on right ankle. Hold right shin both hands.
Take 5 deep breaths.
#3 Bed to Floor Stretch
Get on the side of your bed, swing feet so that they are placed flat on the floor. Now bend while you sit on the bed.
Dangle your arms and head over knees, while your fingers touch the floor.
Take 5 breaths.
#4 Knees to Chest Stretch
Back on bed, place a pillow under head and bend knees while soles are on bed.
Using hands draw one knee towards the chest and then draw second knee. Hold your legs with your arms and relax your head on pillow.
Take 10 breaths with this self hug.
#5 Supine Twist
Keep your knees together and twist pelvis to keep right knee on the bed. Use right hand to hold the left knees and slightly turn your neck towards left.
Hold this stretch for 10 breaths.
#6 Seated Forward Bend
Keep your legs straight and inhale. Lift your torso upright from a reclined position. Bring your torso towards legs by exhaling.
Hang your neck and hold for 10 breaths.
